At Connect Body and Mind, I care for the whole person — treating the mind and the body together, because anxiety lives in the chest, depression shows up in sleep, and healing rarely happens in only one of them.

I came to psychiatry through family practice. After more than a decade as a family nurse practitioner, I kept meeting the same patient: someone whose exhaustion, chest tightness, or sleeplessness had been worked up medically for years, and whose anxiety or depression had never once been named out loud. And the reverse — people carrying a psychiatric diagnosis while an untreated thyroid, an interacting medication, or an unrecognized sleep disorder quietly drove the whole picture.

Connect Body and Mind exists so that no one has to choose which half of themselves to bring to the appointment. I hold both certifications, so both get examined — in the same room, by the same clinician, in one plan.

My practice is telehealth-only and serves adults and older adults throughout California, in English and Filipino. I work often with people who have never seen a psychiatric provider before, including those from families and communities where mental health is still difficult to talk about. There is no version of your story that will surprise me, and none that will be met with judgment.
